Course Exam

• The final exam for this course consists of 10 questions, which are randomly compiled from a large pool of possible questions.
• A 70% or better score is needed in order to pass the final exam. If a student does not pass, they may re-review information in the sections as necessary, and retake the test as many times as needed in order to pass.

Course Objectives

The objective of this Online Ethylene Oxide Awareness Course is to provide general awareness training on the risks and protection measures for those who work with ethylene oxide.

Students will also be introduced to the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations for ethylene oxide, Subpart Z, Toxic and Hazardous Substances – 29 CFR 1910.1047

Learning Objectives

• Where ethylene oxide may be found in the workplace;
• Hazards and health effects of exposure;
• The basics of the OSHA ethylene oxide standard;
• OSHA methods of compliance for preventing ethylene oxide exposure, and;
• Medical surveillance and hazard communication requirements.

Please note that this Ethylene Oxide Awareness training course provides valuable information which applies to the general population of employees who are exposed to hazardous ethylene oxide on the job. This course is not meant to replace company-specific training provided by your employer on equipment use and procedures for your particular work environment. This training should be used as part of an overall safety program. You must be trained by your employer on the hazards, equipment, engineering and administrative controls, safe work practices and emergency plans specific to your role and workplace.
