Who Should Take This Course?

Our Cadmium Awareness for Construction Online course provides general awareness of the risks of cadmium exposure, as well as information on the OSHA regulatory requirements to protect employees who work with cadmium-containing materials and substances.

Cadmium is highly toxic and is a known carcinogen. It can attack the body’s cardiovascular, renal, gastrointestinal, neurological, reproductive, and respiratory systems. Workers can be exposed to cadmium in any industry, but exposure occurs most frequently in manufacturing, construction, and recycling. Around 300,000 workers are exposed to cadmium each year in the U.S.
