The objective of this Online Cadmium Awareness Course is to provide OSHA required general awareness training on the risks and protection requirements for those who work with cadmium.

Students will also be introduced to the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations for Cadmium in Construction, Subpart Z, Toxic and Hazardous Substances – 29 CFR 1926.1127.

This course is not meant to replace company-specific training provided by your employer on equipment use and procedures for your particular work environment. This training should be used as part of an overall safety program. Upon course completion, your employer must train you on the purpose and a description of the medical surveillance program required by the Cadmium Standard. You must be trained by your employer on the hazards, equipment, engineering and administrative controls, safe work practices and emergency plans specific to your role and workplace.

In ALL situations, employers are required to ensure their employees are adequately trained to do their job.
