Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Emergency Medical Technicians have the skills and basic knowledge to stabilize and transport patients, whether it’s a non-emergency or life-threatening emergency. EMTs provide emergency medical care and transportation to critical and emergent patients, outside of a hospital.

Emergency Medical Technicians function under medical oversight within the EMS response system. EMTs use basic equipment typically found on an ambulance to provide interventions between the scene of an emergency and the health care system.
