How long is HAZWOPER training good for?
After workers complete the initial 40 or 24 Hour HAZWOPER training, they will need annual refresher training in order to maintain their certification. If a worker lets their HAZWOPER certification expire, the employer will need to assess whether the employee needs to retake the initial HAZWOPER training or take an 8 Hour HAZWOPER Refresher course, to ensure the worker has the skills and knowledge to safely perform their job duties.
