This EMT Refresher is a U.S.DOT (Department of Transportation), 24 hour Online EMT Refresher course. This EMT Basic Refresher course is INSTRUCTOR BASED and ALL 24 hours are accepted by the National Registry. This course certificate qualifies with an NREMT Refresher course approved F2 #. (10-EMSTI-F2-0006)
All of our EMS courses are presented by Mark Komins B.S.E.M.S., Paramedic, of the EMS Training Institute. Mark has worked as an Emergency Medical Services Provider and Educator since 1990. This Online EMT Refresher and other EMS CE courses are provided to you through a partnership with Hazmat Student, LLC and Mark Komins. The EMS Training Institute is a State of California approved EMT School as well as a BLS & ALS Continuing Education provider for the National Registry and CECBEMS Accredited - Provider EMST10057.
To verify with the NREMT as to whether they accept the full 24 hours online, you can call them with the provided F2#. The NREMT does not have a toll free number. You may contact the NREMT between the hours of 8:30 am (EST) and 5:00 pm (EST) by dialing (614)888-4484
Once you have completed your course, you will be able to download, save and print your certificate from your student account. The certificate will say 24 hour EMT Refresher, DOT curriculum, and Instructor Based. If you would like this refresher course to count as 24 hours of C.E. instead of refresher, you will be able to choose this option when you enroll.
You must complete the renewal process required by your County, State, or the National Registry. The application process may include, CE (continuing education), skills testing, a valid CPR card, fees, etc. Click here for full NREMT requirements.
This course has been designed for the currently certified EMT BASIC renewing their certification and/or for the EMT whose certificate has expired but can still renew within the 2-year grace period.

- National Registry requirement: This Online 24 hour EMT Refresher Course applies to the National Registry for the EMT-B.
- California requirement : This course meets local and state requirements for the California EMT.
- Accepted in almost all states. Check with your local state requirements to see if it qualifies. Remember this is a US DOT curriculum, CECBEMS accredited 24 Hour EMT Refresher for the EMT Basic.
- Not currently accepted in Nevada or Arizona or North Dakota states, unless used for National Registry only.
- This course qualifies as the 24 hours of Remedial Training required NREMT if the candidate fails the NREMT exam 3 times. This 24 hour Remedial Training course gives the candidate 3 more attempts to take and pass the NREMT exam.
- This course can also be taken for 24 hours CE (Continuing Education). You will have this option when enrolling.
If taking the exam, this course is designed to prepare you to pass!
This course also qualifies for CE and Instructor Based Training and this will appear on your certificate.
You can take our EMT Refresher course completely online at your own pace. Start and stop at your convenience. Our system remembers and bookmarks your place so that you can easily continue where you left off. We offer the busy EMT the ability to complete the required 24 hours of refresher training online at your convenience. Once you have passed the course, you will be able to access your certificate from your student account. You will be able to Download, save, print, email or fax a PDF copy of your certificate. You then complete the renewal process set forth by your County, State, or NREMT, which may include, skills testing, CPR, fees, applications, etc.

Course Exams
This course has 7 module exams. It is recommended that once a student completes a module, they take the corresponding exam while the information is still fresh. Each exam consists of 25 questions randomly selected from a large pool of questions. A 75% score or better is required to pass each exam. If a student does not pass the exam the first time, they may retake the exam as many times as necessary in order to pass. You cannot fail this class. |
