Arkansas is not a Plan State, meaning they do not have their own federally approved occupational safety and health program. In turn, Arkansas workers must comply with the federal hazardous waste operations and emergency response regulations that are provided by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) / Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
All workers who handle hazardous materials must take 24 Hour or 40 Hour HAZWOPER training, as well as annual HAZWOPER refresher training.
