Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP)
The primary focus of a Paramedic is to provide advanced emergency medical care for critical and emergent patients in the emergency medical system. Paramedics are allied health professionals who provide patient care and transportation, using their complex knowledge and skills.
Paramedics use basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance to perform interventions for patients from the scene of a medical incident to the health care system. Paramedics function under medical oversight, as part of the overall EMS response.
